I don’t know about you, but the idea of taking a hike in a canyon is pretty enticing. I’ve spent my entire life in the mountains of Colorado, and I have never gone on a hike. The idea of being in the mountains with a mountain backdrop that’s still fresh in your mind, and the opportunity to explore, is enticing enough for me to take the plunge.
Not to mention the great scenery. The canyon trail in Canyonlands National Park is huge and it’s an easy hike. I would even go so far to say that it is better than the trek in Red Rocks too.
The Canyonlands National Park trail is about a 15-minute hike from the visitor center to the trailhead. It is a pretty big hike to get there, but it is worth the effort. You get to see a huge view of the canyon, the Grand Canyon and all around the park from a pretty decent standpoint. The views from the trail are gorgeous. If you are a hiker, Canyonlands is a great destination to explore.
The trail itself is pretty tough, since it is on a very steep and small trail, with only a short, steep section of descent. I’m not sure if it is better to take the shorter route or take the longer route. I would like to see a more strenuous approach to the trail to make it safer.
I don’t know if I would recommend taking the shorter route, or the longer route, but I am not sure if I would recommend going at all. It’s not that I don’t like the views, I just think they are a bit lacking. The view from the trail is great, but the views from the canyon are so much better.
It’s still a steep and technical approach to the trail, which requires a lot of steps and climbing, but thankfully the trail is wide and there are lots of benches and trees to sit and enjoy the scenery. There are a few sections of descent that are a bit sketchy, but it’s certainly not as difficult as the steep section of the trail.
The actual canyon trail, which is about a 10 mile track, is a bit steep to start, but it takes you right up to the top of the trail and then down into the canyon. Because the trail is wide and there are a lot of side trails and side roads, you probably won’t want to go down to the bottom of the canyon, but if you are still feeling up to it, that is where you’ll find the best views.
The canyon is actually quite scenic, and it doesn’t even start until you hit the bridge and turn left. The canyon trail itself is a bit narrow, but the view from the top of the canyon is quite nice. The canyon runs for about a mile, with the main trail leading up into the canyon at the beginning of the trail.
The canyon trail itself runs for about a mile, with the main trail leading up into the canyon at the beginning of the trail. The trail begins with a few side trails to the left, and the canyon itself is quite scenic, with several waterfalls and lakes in the middle. The trail head is at the bottom of the canyon, where there are benches to rest on.
