The story about this park is that it started out as a small park just outside of downtown Pocatello. It was a little hole in the wall place that had one, or possibly two, swimming pools, a bunch of slides, a playground, and even a dog park. I guess that’s the beauty of the park: it’s all indoors with no outside noise.

When you look at an existing park, it looks like the park that existed when it was first built, and it feels like the park that it was originally built and now is. In the case of Pocatello I think its also worth noting that the park is named after a former sheriff who was killed by the state and was replaced by a new sheriff who had a similar name (even though the park was called before the sheriff was even born) which is a good reminder that not all parks are created equally.
