My family is always so happy to see you and the kids from our home. Every time I drive over to the beach, I am so happy to see all the palm trees and the waves. My kids love watching you guys all day long; they watch you get out of work and play in the water, and then they say, “It’s like you can’t believe how much fun you are having.” They say this to me, too.
When I was a kid, I was pretty sure that we were the happiest people in the world. But it was pretty hard to believe. I went to school with my parents at a time when it was so hard to keep up with the world. I even went to a party with my dad when we were in school. We got a few party things done in our high school so my dad and I were able to do a lot of it.
I’m not sure how I feel about that. I don’t think we are the happiest people in the world, but I still try to get out of work and play in the water. I am one of those people who is often too busy to go out. My family takes care of things, and I am grateful for that. I don’t have to worry about getting out of the house or the world because my mom works from home.
I’m not sure that I can put a good spin on “happier people,” but I sure love the idea of my family and I actually sharing my time with each other. I guess I’m being a little too idealistic here. This is the last party my dad and I ever had – he got to go on his first real date with me the day after he left school. We’ve only been in Sanibel four times, and we’ve never gone to a party before.
I don’t know if I can count myself as a “happy” person anymore, but I am very happy to be hanging out with all my friends and family. We are currently trying to figure out how to make our house cleaner and more beautiful than it is today, and we are so excited about the new additions to our family. And since I am a sucker for a cool car, I can’t wait to go do some driving.
